Lemon-Pepper Steaks
4 beef sirloins or rib eye steaks, 1 inch thick ( about
2lb)
½ teaspoon garlic salt
¼ cup butter or margarine, melted
2 tablespoons chopped fresh or 1 tablespoon dried basil
leaves
2 teaspoons lemon-pepper seasoning
1. Brush grill rack with oil. Heat coals or gas for
direct heat.
2. Trim fat on steaks. Sprinkle garlic salt over beef. In
a small bowl, mix butter, basil and lemon-pepper: let sit
for 10 min. to have flavors blend. Brush over beef.
3. Cover and grill beef over medium heat 12 to 16 min.
turning once for medium beef doneness. Brush tops of steak
with butter mixture and serve with your favorite side dish.

Editors note - One of the best ways to keep steaks moist and juicy is to
make sure the grill is very hot before adding the steak.
This will quickly sear the outside
of the meat and keep the
inside juicy.
The lemon-pepper sauce is also great on chicken. I add
the garlic salt to the sauce for chicken.
